It Begins!

I am in the process of designing my wordpress theme and made the decision to start blogging now rather than waiting while I design this bad boy. So I had a look through the WP themes and stumbled upon LightWord by Andrei Luca, which will do nicely until my theme is done. I chose to use wordpress under the hood because, well, it’s pretty obvious really… It is hands down the most robust “out of the box” web blog application available, fully open source with built in CMS and the ability to create and install your own themes and plugins with minimum effort, makes it a no-brainer and if you are still not convinced Click here.

Who is this guy?

My name is Brian Laughlan or Bruff as most people know me. I am a Scottish Designer, currently living/working in Switzerland. My “bread and butter” is in digital design & web development, but I love all forms of creativity. I moved over to Zürich just over three months ago to work for a company called Creative Glass, dealing with all their web & print work on a daily basis. So far it has proven to be a pretty great decision, I have settled in well and am not missing home too much, although I miss my family and friends, especially my two nieces, Beth & Katie.

As well as working full time for CG, I will also be working on my freelance work, the opportunities here look pretty promising, so stay in touch for more updates on that. Apart from Designing & Creating stuff all day, I enjoy gaming, listening to music, and having a good time! The main purpose of this blog is to showcase my design work and have a place to get my random thoughts out there and meet interesting people in the process. Stay in Touch.
